More players, more prizes, more gifts, a great golf course, lunch, dinner and a
special tribute to
NY Yankees and LA Dodgers great.

It was a great day for a full field of 120 golfers and another fifty dinner guests.
We celebrated Al's 70th birthday and he responded with a fun filled question
and answer session when the dinner was over.

Belly up to the bar boys.  After a day on
the course the refreshments were tasty.
County Prosecutor Joe "Bo" Bocchini

Al was especially pleased to reunite with
ex-teammates like Jack Klemmer (right).
Father John Rafferty presented Al Downing
with gifts and an honorary diploma from
Trenton Catholic Boys HIgh School.
Golden Wave Club president and event
chairman Bob Plumeri served as emcee and
thanked the TCGWC committee.
Foursomes like this one, gathered for
dinner and an evening full of laughs and
great memories.
Fathe John Rafferty made a special
appearance providing Al and all guests with
lots of laughs.
Jim Loney, Al's THS classmate, reminded
the crowd that his buddy served as an LA
Dodger during his outstanding career.
Local legend baseballer George "Puggy"
Malone said he would never miss the chance
to honor his protege, Al Downing.
It was a full house and the crowd was
especially pleased when Al agreed to answer
questions from guests.
Al was his at his congenial best when he took
the mike and kept the audience entertained  
capping off a perfect evening.
The weather was perfect, the golf was fun,
the dinner was delicious and guys like "Hap"
Hannawacker (right) loved every minute.  
The front office of the New York
Yankees sent a special letter to Al
Downing with best wishes on the
occasion of his happy return to his
hometown, Trenton, New Jersey.
